Crossfit Level 1
Let’s back track a little bit. I attended Barrington High School from 2009-2013. Throughout those four years I was very un-athletic and out of shape. I was the short pudgy kid that walked the hallways. When I was not at school, I would mostly spend my time playing Xbox 360 and eating chicken taquitos with a jar of Pace salsa next to me. Not a pretty picture. I played lacrosse for all four years of high school and you’ll never guess whom my coaches were. Coach Brian Niven (Frosh), Coach Craig Niven (Junior Varsity) and Coach Chris Bluse (Varsity). I remember it clear as day for my Frosh team when we were doing inchworms for part of our warm-up (which I couldn’t even do a push-up). Brian was talking about his garage gym and this new type of fitness called Crossfit. Wanting to fit in with everyone else on the team, I didn’t join and had no desire to. In fact, I even told Brian that my mom was getting me a personal trainer, that didn’t happen either. Come JV season, I still didn’t sign up. Craig would always tell us to get us in CFB because it would help our performance on the field. We would have team workouts from time to time but nothing really clicked yet. Senior year came and one of my goals was to be a starter on the Varsity team. My good buddy Dylan H. who went to CFB at the time, told me that I wasn’t going to start on Varsity unless I get in better shape. He made me go with him for a couple classes to try it out and I got hooked. Best decision that I’ve ever made and it continues to change my life for the better in all areas.
Seeing that CrossFit changed my life for the better on a huge level, my goal as a coach is to do the same for you! Whether your goal is to get a muscle-up or even your first strict pull-up I want to help you crush it and then set new/higher goals to reach. Let’s do it.
Past Sports/ Events/ Activities:

People who challenge themselves in some way every day, no matter what the outcome may be. You’ve got to risk it, to get the biscuit.
