How and when did you start doing CrossFit?
I had started hearing about it from friends, and then when I was living in Madrid, a box opened up just a few streets over from my apartment, so I decided to give it a try. I loved it! Having never really lifted weights before, it was a nice change from my old routine. I immediately liked how the focus was not on getting skinny, but being strong and fit- it helped me adapt a much healthier attitude towards diet and exercise.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Family? Job? Hobbies?
I am in the middle of two brothers, and am an aunt to an amazing niece and two adorable nephews. I taught kindergarten in Prague, CZ for two years, and that’s where I got my fur-baby, Rooney, a German Shepherd mix. I also taught English for four years in Spain. I currently am a bilingual K/1 teacher in McHenry. I also work part-time at the Gap. During the summer I love to read and listen to music, or go to festivals.
