How and when did you start doing CrossFit?
A friend I worked with asked me to come try it out with her. Of course, after just that one time, I was hooked. That was pretty early on in CorssFit’s existence. Craig did an initial one-on-one assessment and Brian was the main trainer.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Family? Job? Hobbies?
I have lived in Lake Barrington (5 miles or less from CrossFit) for 17 years and have 3 grown children (youngest is a senior in high school). I work in the area as well for 17 years at The Garlands retirement community. I love anything that gets me outsides such as gardening, yard work, biking, hiking, paddling, skiing of any sort, taking care of my chickens, etc. Recently, when I turned 50, I asked for an electric keyboard so I can relearn the piano. So far, I know only one song but play it really well.

Favorite WOD and Favorite Movement?
I like Murph and rope climbs.
Least favorite WOD and least favorite movement?
I could do without wall balls for sure and WODs with a lot of overhead lifting are a mental challenge for me.

Your Favorite junk food?
Ice cream and tapioca pudding

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you want with you?
People – my family; I am super social and don’t think I would last long if I did not have someone with whom I could converse.

Describe yourself in one word?
Authentic

If you could create a WOD, what would it look like?
Push ups, Abdominal work like sit-ups or planks, toes to bar, double unders, deadlifts – I like a lot of movements in a workout and low reps
